Magento just released a security bug fix bringing its community edition release number up to 1.7.0.2 (or if you’re using Enterprise 1.12.0.2). Yes, you should upgrade, especially if you’re using 1.7.0.0. If you are still running 1.6.x then ideally you’ve at least made it to 1.6.2.0.
